As the music ended, Cecily sat down on the end of the bed.
"If you would like, I can go down to the telegraph office and send some telegrams."
"Cecily, that is a wonderful idea. Let's see. There's Aunt Olivia and Uncle Jasper and Sara, of course. Anyone you can think of, Gus?"
"Uh, there's Captain Crane, I mean my pa, and my ma in Jamaica, and Mrs. Lydie and Odelia in Charleston."
Gus and Felicity had kept in touch with the women in South Carolina who had taken care of him after the accident.
Felicity, Gus, and Colleen yawned in almost perfect unison.
"I think you three need your rest. Everyone, let's go downstairs."
"No, no, Mother, it's all right. Besides, Gus and I have one more announcement up our sleeves. Felix already knows parts of it, as do Aunt Olivia and Uncle Jasper."
Gus handed Colleen back to Felicity and continued where she'd left off.
"Well, as ya know, it was very difficult for me to be away from Felicity during her pregnancy. So, for the last several months we've been trying to think of a way for the three of us to be together. And, we've found one. Felix talked to Mr. Tremayne and he's agreed to give me a job as the Hotel's telegraph and telephone operator."
"And," Felicity continued," Uncle Jasper and Aunt Olivia have agreed to let us rent their house here while they're in England."
"Oh, Felicity, Gus, this is wonderful news." Janet had seen how difficult it had been for Felicity to go through most of her pregnancy without Gus.
"I'll have to go back to Halifax, though, at the end of June for about three weeks to train my replacement and get the rest of my stuff. And then I'll back for good."
